Volunteer to offer community support
Herefordshire Council's Talk Community Covid-19 response team provides help and support where it's most needed in Herefordshire. We know that this is a worrying and challenging time for many, so we are working with community organisations and local businesses to help connect our residents to support in their local area.
Herefordshire Council receives around 200 calls a day for support from elderly, frail, disabled, and vulnerable people and families in Herefordshire. If you are able and willing to offer your time, we need support across the county with some very basic requests such as:
- Going shopping for food
- Collect prescriptions from the pharmacy
- Taking care of pets
All volunteers practise social distancing and are provided with guidance on a range of topics including hygiene, mental health, safeguarding and keeping healthy.
If you can make a difference to someone where you live, please complete the online form or call us on 01432 260027. Thank you.
We have a guidance pack available to download in pdf format, for volunteers, with key information that will help protect you and the people you are supporting.
