Live and Learn

Live and Learn gives young people aged 14-16, who are disadvantaged or disengaged from education, the chance to gain vocational work experience. In some cases this can lead towards an accredited qualification. Students spend one day a week in practical sessions giving vocational training, which helps students find a route back into education while building up their qualifications, work and life skills.

Courses available include:

  • Motor vehicle maintenance
  • Construction including carpentry and bricklaying
  • Landbased Studies
  • Catering
  • Beauty
  • Sports studies
  • Arts Awards
  • Equine Studies
  • Work experience

Each young person is supported by an assigned Live and Learn Coordinator, as well as parents, teachers and training providers to ensure successful participation in the scheme. Live and Learn courses are monitored by dedicated staff on a weekly basis. We may be able to offer specific help for young people with physical disabilities, learning difficulties or mental health problems.
