Interment of ashes

There are three memorial gardens at Hereford Crematorium where you can inter or scatter cremated remains. You can also bury cremated at Hereford, Leominster, Kington and Wigmore cemeteries.

You will need to fill out a form to arrange to scatter ashes at Hereford Crematorium.

To arrange for the burial of cremated remains in one of the county's four cemeteries, please download and complete the burial application form.

Hereford Crematorium

The Garden of Remembrance

The cremated remains are interred as a loose burial (without a casket) in an unmarked location in the informal area of the garden. You can ask to witness the interment, however, there is a charge for this. Please contact the crematorium office or your funeral director for more information and to arrange an appointment.

The Millennium Garden

Cremated remains can be placed in a walled memorial vault (Sanctum 2) or an individual memorial vault (Sanctum 2000). Vaults can be used as a memorial only, with the cremated remains having been interred elsewhere.

The Garden of Reflection

Cremated remains can be scattered on a designated grassed area within the garden. The scattering usually takes place two days following the cremation and is carried out by a member of staff. You can ask to witness the scattering, however, there is a charge for this.

Cremated remains can also be place in a memorial tree vault.

Please contact the crematorium office or your funeral director to arrange an appointment.
