Ornamental Flowering Cherry (Prunus cv.). Main growing point was
damaged at some point, so side branch has become dominant. Tree has
become side heavy and is noticably becoming unstable during strong
winds. Signs of bark deteriation/splitting at base of branch. Branch
is located over car parking area for 21 Gloucester Road. Sympathetic
removal of side branch back to just above nodal point on property
boundary. Reduction to approx 1m from main stem and allow for
regrowth/regeneration. This will 'rebalance' the tree shape and
hopefully return apical dominace to recovered central growing point.
