Herefordshire's many small communities have a long and proud tradition of self-reliance. We want to help support that by developing new local solutions that improve life for those in specific areas. That means, we and other service providers work closely with a community to really understand the most important issues that are affecting them. By working together this way, not only do communities become more involved in decision making that affects them, but also we can provide more effective and integrated services that have the most positive impact.

What's happening in your locality?

As part of this process we use locality profiles that bring together a wide range of statistics about different communities in Herefordshire and the areas around them. From these it is much easier to identify and address, specific issues affecting each.

You can see how we and other service providers are already working together with communities in the county by downloading our localities engagement toolkit.

Parish magazines and newsletters

Herefordshire Council holds a list of magazines and newsletters and the personal contacts for each publication. Consent has been gained to share the list or information on the list:

  • Internally so we can update them on Herefordshire Council services as and when necessary
  • With our partners on their request - for example Balfour Beatty, the Police, Wye Valley NHS Trust and the voluntary sector (to include charities) so important information can be shared
  • If we are approached by someone wanting to place an advert in a magazine
  • We WILL NOT share the list with any marketing companies

To enquire about receiving the list or to request information from it, please email TalkCommunityEnquiries@herefordshire.gov.uk.
