Young Carers Support Grant
A young carer is someone under 18 who helps look after someone in their family, or a friend, who is ill, disabled or misuses drugs or alcohol (Carers Trust).
Recent research has highlighted that there may be as many as 2,761 young carers of secondary school age in Herefordshire.
Supporting our vision to recognise and value carers, and to enable them to keep well and live their own life, the Young Carers Support Grant has a budget of £20,000 to fund young carers groups and activities designed to identify and support young carers across the county.
All activities will be expected to support the early identification of young carers and successful applicants will be required to work in partnership with the Young Carers Support Service (YCSS).
Please download the Young Carers Support Grant guidance notes for more background and details about eligible organisations and activities, how much you can apply for and the grant application process.
Download an application form and project cost spreadsheet below or ring us on 01432 260753, or email firstname.lastname@example.org to request a form and spreadsheet.
Applications must be received by noon on Friday 22 March 2019.
