Across Britain, events are commemorating the centenary of the First World War (1914 to 1918). In Herefordshire, the official programme is organised by the First World War Commemoration Committee, led by the Lord-Lieutenant. To find out more, email or write to Herefordshire Lieutenancy Office, c/o Herefordshire Council, Plough Lane Offices, Plough Lane, Hereford HR4 0LE.

This year's commemorations will focus on the effect of the First World War on the home front. If you are a local school, history group or organisation interested in the impact WW1 had on this county and the people in it, why not organise your own event? Your will project will be showcased at the 2017 Herefordshire Country Fair.
