Veterans support groups in Herefordshire
Military Charities Helpdesk
A free, drop-in Military Charities Helpdesk to support armed forces personnel, their families and veterans with a range of issues, including welfare and benefits operates at the Customer Service Centre, Blueschool House, Blueschool Street, Hereford on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10am and 2pm. Appointments are now also available on Mondays.
The Herefordshire Armed Forces Community Covenant Task Group, with the help of the Royal British Legion and SSAFA Forces Help, runs the helpdesk. It is staffed by volunteer caseworkers from both charities, who work closely with Herefordshire Council staff at the Customer Service Centre to ensure the best possible support is in place.
Herefordshire Veterans Support Group
Herefordshire Veterans Support Group (HVSG) provides a safe and friendly environment where ex-service personnel can talk confidentially with like-minded people about any health or well-being issues they have. HVSG works with Herefordshire Council and charities like SSAFA, Royal British Legion, The Warrior Programme and Combat Stress.
HVSG meets at Saxon Hall, Hoarwithy Road, Hereford on Mondays and Thursdays between 11am and 4pm.
AFVBC Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club
We are a group of veterans and serving members of Her Majesty's Armed Forces, and like other Veterans Breakfast Clubs around the country, and overseas, our ethos is mutual support; it works because we all have a similar humour and outlook, and the social life we now enjoy is like our service days.
We meet every fortnight from Saturday 19 August 2017 at 9.30am at The Imperial, 31 Widemarsh Street, Hereford HR4 9EA
