Early education and childcare provision

Choosing the right childcare

There are a range of early education and childcare providers available across Herefordshire. Choosing the right one is an important decision and should reflect your child's needs and your family circumstances.

Many childcare providers have waiting lists, so it is helpful to plan ahead to secure a place.

If possible, visit a variety of settings, such as nurseries and childminders, to compare what they offer. Try to visit during a typical day and take your child with you to see how they respond to the environment. Preparing questions in advance can help you feel confident in your decision. You may wish to visit more than once before making your final choice.
