Hereford Chamber Choir 'Voices of the New World'

An evening of American choral music

Voices of the new world Leonard Bernstein Chichester psalms text over American landscape

'Voices of the New World' - an uplifting evening of choral music celebrating the rich and diverse soundscape of 20th century America.

At the centre of the programme is Leonard Bernstein’s magnificent Chichester Psalms for which the choir is joined by an outstanding ensemble of local musicians including Alison Martin (harp), Ewan Murray (organ), and Isaac Scot (percussion).

The choir will also perform Copland’s luminous Four Motets, Whitacre's Sleep, Lauridsen's hauntingly beautiful O Magnum Mysterium, and Thompson's Alleluia.

The concert also features Copland’s lyrical Four Early Songs, performed by our Music Director Simon Harper (tenor) and pianist Simon Peberdy.
