Saturday Spotlight Talk: Beavers at Greathough Brook in the Forest of Dean

A look at the beaver introduction programme at Greathough Brook in the Forest of Dean.

A beaver swimming

Beavers were introduced by Forestry England, under licence from Natural England, to a 7 hectare enclosure in the Forest of Dean in 2018 in an effort to improve the biodiversity of the area and to slow the flow of water through Greathough Brook in times of heavy rainfall. Six years later the site is now a wonderfully diverse site, home to a variety of wildlife that thrive in the beaver created wetlands. This is the story so far.
