Dormington and Mordiford neighbourhood planning referendum
Information statement
Herefordshire Council gives notice that a referendum relating to the Dormington and Mordiford Group Neighbourhood Development Plan will be held on Thursday 13 November 2025.
The question which will be asked in the referendum is:
Do you want Herefordshire Council to use the neighbourhood plan for Dormington and Mordiford Group to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?
The referendum area is identified on this map. The referendum area is identical to the area which has been designated as the Dormington and Mordiford Group Neighbourhood Development Plan area.
A person is entitled to vote in the referendum if on Thursday 13 November 2025:
- He or she is entitled to vote in a local government election in the referendum area, and
- His or her qualifying address for the election is in the referendum area. A person's qualifying address is, in relation to a person registered in the register of electors, the address in respect of which he or she is entitled to be registered.
The referendum expenses limit that will apply in relation to the referendum is £2,362, plus an amount of 0.059p for each person entitled to vote in the referendum (594 electors). For this referendum it is £2,397.05.
The referendum will be conducted in accordance with procedures which are similar to those used at local government elections.
A number of specified documents may be viewed online and at the terminals at any library or customer service centre.
The specified documents are:
- The (Dormington and Mordiford Group) Neighbourhood Development Plan
- The independent examiner's report
- The summary of representations submitted to the independent examiner pursuant to paragraph 9 of schedule 4B to the 1990 Act
- A decision statement of the local planning authority's satisfaction that the draft Neighbourhood Development Plan meets the basic conditions specified by statute and complies with the provision made by or under section 38A and 38B of the Planning and Compulsory Act 2004, and
- A statement setting out general information on town and country planning including neighbourhood planning and the referendum.
