Small equipment grant privacy notice

Introduction

The Small Equipment Grant European Regional (SEG) is a scheme part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) which is available to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within the Herefordshire, Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin areas.

Herefordshire Council is the accountable body for this scheme and awards funding to eligible businesses under this scheme.

To ensure funding is awarded to eligible businesses it is necessary to have access to and hold personal information about you. This information will include:

  • Name, address, telephone number and email address
  • Bank details
  • Employee names
  • HMRC registration details
  • Labour market status
  • Intensity of support

If any of the information you have supplied within the application form is considered to be commercially sensitive, please highlight this on the form in the relevant sections. This will assist Herefordshire Council when responding to any requests received under legislation such as the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Purpose of the data processing

Herefordshire Council is the Data Controller under data protection law for any personal data provided by you.

Information held about you

We will only use the information you provide on this form to administer, process and assess your application for funding under the European Regional Development Fund for England and to administer any funding if your application is successful.

Information you provide will only be used for the stated purpose. Further information about the processing of your data can be found on our Access to information page. 

Who is processing your data

The legal basis for processing this data is that is necessary for the performance of a contract with the data subject or to take steps preparatory to such a contract. You can withdraw your consent at any time by notifying us and we will no longer process your application. How we will use the information we hold about you

Information may be shared with other persons or organisations helping us with the assessment, monitoring and evaluations of applications. Information you provide may also be shared with other government departments including the Ministry of Housing and Communities and Local Government, The Marches LEP and third parties appointed in connection with the administration of the European Regional Development Fund Programme for England.

How the law allows us to use your information

We will keep your data once an application is approved and funding released for the period defined by the funding body, as shown on our retention schedule.

Individuals have a number of rights under data protection law, including the right to request their information. You also have a right to make a complaint about our handling of your personal data to the Information Commissioner’s Office https://ico.org.uk/

How long we keep your personal information
It is important that we hold accurate and up to date information about you to assess your needs and deliver the appropriate services. If any of your details have changed, or change in the future, please tell us so that we can update your records.
