Who is processing your data

Herefordshire Council is the data controller and Hoople are the data processor under data protection law.

How we will use the information we hold about you

We will use the information you provide on this form to administer Housing Payments.

How the law allows us to use your information

The legal basis for processing this data is Article 6(1)(e) of the GDPR as a task carried out in the public interest under the following legislation:

If the information you provide us with contains special category data, such as health information, the additional legal basis for processing is Article 9(2)(g) of the GDPR, which also relates to our public task, and Schedule 1 part 2(6) of the Data Protection Act 2018 which relates to statutory purposes.

Who we will share your information with

Your information will only be shared with third parties such as the police, Department for Work and Pensions and Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs for the purposes of preventing and detecting fraud, or with the Cabinet Office for auditing of council accounts.

How long we keep your personal information

We will keep your data for 10 years after the year of payment.

Your rights

Individuals have a number of rights under data protection law, including the right to request their information. You also have a right to make a complaint about our handling of your personal data to the Information Commissioner's Office.

It is important that we hold accurate and up to date information about you to assess your needs and deliver the appropriate services. If any of your details have changed, or change in the future, please tell us so that we can update your records.
