BBLP new roads and street works privacy notice

Introduction

Herefordshire Council's network management plan sets out the requirements for the safe and efficient movement of people and goods on the network.

Delivery of effective network management and regulation of activity assists in meeting this requirement and in discharging legal duties under the Traffic Management Act 2004 and New Roads and Street Works Act 1991.

This will be achieved by effective management of the network through regulation, coordination, licencing and, where appropriate, enforcement activities of our service delivery and that of external third parties (for example statutory undertakers, neighbouring highway authorities, developers and hauliers).

Purpose of the data processing

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) the council has a duty to inform you about how your personal data will be handled.

Herefordshire Council is the data controller for the purposes of the GDPR and the information that you provide will be processed by the council's agent, Balfour Beatty Living Places, the data processor for the purposes of the GDPR.

  • Licensing and enforcement
  • Temporary traffic management
  • Event coordination
  • Any other aspect of network management, relevant to the new roads and street works team, required by Herefordshire Council in accordance with current legislation
Who is processing your data

The new roads and street works (NRSWA) team processes your data on behalf of Herefordshire Council in accordance with:

  • Traffic Management Act 2004
  • New Roads and Street Works Act 1991
  • Any other current legislation relating to the NRSWA team
How we will use the information we hold about you

The new roads and street works team will process your data and share your data with any third parties that have legal authority to view your data.

How the law allows us to use your information

Your data is kept in accordance with our retention schedule, available on Herefordshire Council's website.

Who we will share your information with

You have a number of rights under data protection law, including the right to request your information.

You also have a right to make a complaint about our handling of your personal data to the Information Commissioner's Office.
