SA 11 - Develop a robust evidence base to assess county-wide biosecurity vulnerabilities
- Code
- SA 11
- Supporting action
- Develop a robust evidence base to assess county-wide biosecurity vulnerabilities
- Description
-
Biosecurity relates to actions aimed at preventing the introduction or spread of harmful organisms outside of their typical native range. Data input from a wide variety of stakeholders will be important to develop a robust evidence base of the key species, pests or pathogens presenting the highest threat to the county’s biosecurity.

- Priority
- Ecosystem resilience to invasive species, pests, and pathogens is strengthened
- Priority description
-
Invasive species, pests and pathogens can cause declines in native species populations, which can have subsequent impacts of degrading habitat functions and resilience as their natural balance has been disrupted. Strengthening ecosystems resilience to these threats will ensure they are better protected and can continue to function despite these threats, as well as the overarching pressure of climate change.
