Local flood risk management strategy

Name
Local flood risk management strategy
Summary

Herefordshire Council is a Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA) and it has the 'lead' role in managing flood risk from surface water, groundwater and ordinary watercourses across the county. As part of this role we must develop, maintain, apply and monitor a local flood risk management strategy.

This is an important document for the on-going management of flood risk throughout the county. The strategy sets out the framework for how the council will work with other local flood risk management authorities and the general public to better understand and manage existing and future flood risks from all potential sources of flooding.
