TLC LIVE is one of the UK’s most established providers of online tuition for students aged 6–16, delivering live, interactive and individualised tutoring sessions led exclusively by fully qualified and experienced UK teachers. Our collaborative and engaging lessons are delivered through our online learning programme, ensuring reliable tutor availability and access to a strong national pool of teaching expertise, recruited based on ability rather than location. With over 35,000 hours of National Curriculum content available for learners from age 6 up to A Level, we can accommodate a wide range of educational needs across English, Maths, Science, Humanities, ESOL and more.
Trusted by over 500 schools and more than half of local authorities in England, TLC LIVE provides flexible, cost-effective provision with no minimum booking requirements and a 24-hour cancellation policy. Our service focuses on improving academic engagement and attainment through personalised one-to-one support, helping to remove barriers to education, bridge learning gaps and support students to re-engage in learning. Outcomes are often geared towards reintegration into mainstream education, attainment of qualifications, or progression along alternative academic pathways. We have particular expertise in supporting Pupil Premium students, those with SEND, LAC, EHCPs, EBSA, and disengaged learners.
Sessions are tailored to address skills gaps identified through baseline assessment, working towards broader outcomes such as improved academic ability, confidence and learner engagement through bespoke teaching pitched at an appropriate level. TLC LIVE also recognises that many students outside mainstream education may require alternative pathways. We are a registered ASDAN centre offering short courses, as well as an NCFE exam centre delivering Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications, Functional Skills examinations, and our own mentoring programme.
How our provision works:
Individualised Provision
Students are taught independently in separate online classrooms (accessible via laptop, desktop or Chromebook), allowing them to focus fully on developing the skills needed to progress. Baseline assessments identify current academic levels and learning gaps, with further assessments typically carried out every 10 lessons to track progress, although this can be adapted to suit the student or referrer. Lessons are delivered flexibly; while tutors plan sessions in advance, teaching can be adapted in real time based on feedback and student interests.Flexibility
TLC LIVE can deliver lessons at any time, including weekends and school holidays, with scheduling tailored around the young person’s timetable. Sessions can begin at unconventional times if needed, and provision can range from 1 hour to 17 hours per week. Schools and Local Authorities often choose TLC LIVE because we operate without contracts. Sessions can be booked for a full term, but invoicing is monthly, meaning clients only pay for sessions delivered. We simply require 24 hours’ notice to cancel or rearrange a lesson. We can also follow a school timetable, align with schemes of work, and support all major exam boards.Reporting and Feedback
At the end of each lesson, students provide feedback on content and enjoyment. Referrers can access this information through downloadable summary reports via our online portal. Tutors also provide written feedback, including topics covered and next-step lesson planning. Real-time attendance monitoring is also available through the portal.Quality of Teaching
All tutors are UK-trained, fully qualified specialists in their subject areas, ensuring high-quality teaching and support. Tutors hold enhanced DBS checks for safeguarding purposes, and all lessons are recorded and monitored by head office to maintain quality assurance standards. - Accreditations
