Details of provision service

Skylark Adventures provides flexible, nature-based alternative provision designed to engage young people who may struggle in traditional classroom environments. Programmes take place across a range of outdoor locations in Gloucestershire and surrounding areas, including woodland, river and adventure environments. Sessions are tailored to individual needs, with small group sizes and the option for one-to-one support where appropriate.

Our experienced team prioritises safety, wellbeing and inclusive practice.  Our aim is to help young people build confidence, resilience, teamwork and positive engagement with learning. Progress and outcomes such as improvements in attendance, behaviour, confidence and participation are monitored and shared with schools.

Activities are designed to be engaging, practical and confidence-building. These may include:

  • Mountain Biking
  • Bushcraft/Forest School
  • Hill Walking
  • Canoeing/paddle sports
  • Air Rifle shooting
  • Caving

Programmes are flexible in length and structure and can support young people working towards reintegration into education, improved engagement with learning, and the development of transferable life and social skills. We work collaboratively with schools, families and other professionals to ensure the provision meets the needs and goals of each young person.
