Consultation with home care providers on care at home provision. This consultation closed on 28 August 2016 and the results are available to view.

This consultation ran from 6 June to 28 August 2016 and is now closed.

Contractual arrangements with service providers for care at home are due to finish in July 2017.  The council sought views on proposals to make sure that the services we arrange for people are efficient, provide good quality and help people to live independently.

How we consulted

Following a programme of engagement, a questionnaire was published on our website and people were invited to complete it online.  A printable version was also made available for people to download.  Paper questionnaires were sent to all people in receipt of home care (870 in total).  Drop in sessions were held in Hereford, Ledbury, Leominster and Ross-on-Wye during the consultation period to enable people to discuss the questionnaire with council commissioners.  In addition, a dedicated telephone advice and helpline was made available.

What happens next?

At the same time, the council undertook a consultation with service providers. This focused on how the council should commission council-funded domiciliary care. You can read more about it on the Help to live at home consultation for service providers webpage.

Findings of both consultations are currently being analysed. We submitted proposals for consideration to the council’s Cabinet meeting on 3 November 2016. The papers for this meeting are available on
