Consultation on review of the Sustainable Modes of Travel to School Strategy

This consultation ran between 13 July and 25 September 2017 and is now closed.

We consulted on our review of the Sustainable Modes of Travel to School Strategy (SMOTS) as required under the Education and Inspections Act 2006. This strategy is aimed at encouraging and enabling pupils to walk, cycle and use the bus to travel to and from school, reducing reliance on car travel. This review is to ensure the SMOTS is fit for purpose and will be useful to all schools either in a rural setting or an urban environment.

We are analysing the responses and will publish the finalised strategy later in 2017.
