The Local Government Boundary Commission electoral review of Herefordshire Council
A public consultation to help shape new council wards for Herefordshire. 25 November 2025 to 2 February 2026. This consultation is closed.

The Local Government Boundary Commission for England wanted to hear your views on where you live, to help make sure that the new wards reflect the size and shape of local communities.
An electoral review is being carried out to make sure that each local councillor represents about the same number of electors, and that the wards they represent reflect community identities.
The council formally asked the Commission to carry out a single member ward review. This means that the Commission will aim to draw up a pattern of electoral wards where each ward is represented by one councillor.
Following an earlier consultation with the council, the Commission concluded that Herefordshire Council needs 53 councillors to be able to operate effectively. This is the same number as it has now.
You could take part in the consultation via the Boundary Commission website.
The Commission will use local views to help draw up their proposals for new ward boundaries.
Closing date
The consultation on this stage of the electoral review of Herefordshire Council lasted for 10 weeks and closed on 2 February 2026.
