Proposed increase to taxi licence fees 2025-26

Have your say on proposed increases to taxi licensing fees. 25 June to 18 July 2025. This consultation is closed.

In accordance with Section 70 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976, we are consulting regarding increasing the fees paid for applications associated with taxi and private hire vehicle, driver and operator licences.

What happens next

  • If no objections are received or are received and withdrawn before the consultation deadline, the proposed fee increase shall come into force on 21 July 2025.
  • If objections are received, the council will consider them and set a new date when the new fees will come into force.
