Dial 999 if you are or somebody else is in immediate danger and need rescuing.

If floods are forecast

• Check for severe weather warnings and flood warnings by listening to the radio and TV
• Phone Floodline on 0845 988 1188 for river flooding information
• Check river levels
• Protect what you can by moving pets, vehicles, valuables, sentimental items and important documents to safety or higher ground
• Prepare food that you can eat without cooking, clean bottled water and warm clothes
• Charge your mobile phone
