Summer noise nuisance

During the summer months (funding permitting) Environmental Health run an out of hours service on Friday and Saturday nights between 9pm and 2am.

The service has run between mid July and the weekend after the late August Bank Holiday.

If you are suffering from excessive and prolonged noise disturbance during this time the team will be available to take your complaint.

You will need to provide your details including:

  • Contact number
  • Details of the noisy premises
  • How long it's been going on,
  • How the noise is affecting you and
  • Whether it's a repeat issue

The duty team will pick up your complaint details during the shift and will assess the information on the night.

The officer will contact you back where possible to discuss further and assess if a visit is required and possible. Depending on service demand, excessive noise, duration and repeat offenders will be given priority on the night.

If we arrange a visit that night then we may require access to your affected property to monitor the noise. This access is essential if the service is to consider further formal action.

We will further assess all cases received out of hours, during normal office hours.
