Food hygiene rating

There are around 2,100 food premises in Herefordshire. We check and monitor that the premises and activities occurring within these premises, comply with food safety legislation.

Officers from environmental health carry out food hygiene interventions 6 monthly, annually, every 18 months, every 2 years, or every 3 years depending upon the risk assessment. You can find more advice from the Food Standards Agency on food hygiene for businesses.

The food hygiene rating or inspection result given to a business reflects the standards of food hygiene we found on the date of inspection or visit. The food hygiene rating is not a guide to food quality.
