New disposable vape legislation from 1 June 2025 - ban on the sale or supply of single-use vapes
Herefordshire Trading Standards wish to remind any business who sell disposable vape devices that the law will be changing from the 1 June 2025, making it illegal to sell a disposable vape.
From 1 June 2025, it will also be an offence for retailers to sell, offer to sell, or have in their possession for sale disposable vaping products in their shop or on their websites.
All stock should be sold prior to this date.
From 1 June all vaping devices must be:
- Refillable - a container that is refillable or a container that is separately available and can be replaced by a user of the products in the normal course of use, such as “pods”
- Rechargeable - contain a battery that can be recharged, and a replacement coil, or coil in a single use cartridge or pod which is available separately after purchase, and can be replaced in the product's normal course of use
