Visit Budget 2020/21 and Corporate Plan 2020-2024 consultation to take part in the current budget consultation which runs from 7 November to 4 December 2019.
We asked for your views on a variety of proposals, such as whether the council should increase borrowing to enable more investment across the county, and a suggested 4.9 percent increase to next year’s Council Tax (a total 2.9 percent increase to core Council Tax and a 2 percent adult social care precept.) That’s an increase of £5.90 per month for those who live in a Band D property.

About the consultation
The 2019-20 budget consultation was open until Friday 21 September 2018. All feedback from individuals will stay anonymous and will help to inform the annual budget and Council Tax setting for 2019-20.
Your Council Tax funds many services across the county, from waste collection and road maintenance, to looking after vulnerable children and adults.
Each year we set a budget to decide how much we're able to spend on services for Herefordshire residents and businesses for the next financial year.
For 2019-20 we want to ensure that we deliver a balanced budget while continuing to invest in and deliver services which meet our priorities to:
- Enable residents to live safe, healthy and independent lives
- Keep children and young people safe and give them a great start in life
- Support the growth of our economy
- Secure better services, quality of life and value for money
We have drafted our budget proposals against a backdrop of continuing financial pressure, with central government funding due to be almost eliminated by 2020.
