A DofE programme is a real adventure from beginning to end.
To take part you just need to be aged between 14 and 24. It doesn't matter who you are or where you're from, and you don't need any qualifications to start.
But here's the best bit - you get to choose what you do!

The long awaited official opening of Ross-on-Wye Skate Park has finally arrived. The event which is taking place on Saturday 6th September 2008, will be a celebration for young people and those who have supported them over the past few years to raise the money for such a high specification park. There will be competitions for skateboarding, BMX and bladers, alongside an electric mix of rock, hip-hop and acoustic music in a marquee set just behind the park.
The first band will be on stage at 12pm with the official opening at 12:30pm that will feature a display by professional skaters 'Tribe', before the start of competitions. The final band will finish at 7:30pm with the competitions, prize giving's and bands spread throughout the afternoon and evening.

Herefordhire has been given almost half a million pounds to help projects for young people to get off the ground.
Now the council is looking for volunteers to help manage the fund. A total of £450,000 has come from the government's youth opportunity and capital fund, and has to be spent on increasing the range of things to do and places to go for young people over the next three years.
