Setting up an Award Group
The first step is to contact the County Award Team on 01432 383027 or email dofeaward@herefordshire.gov.uk for an informal discussion.We will guide you through the process, and discuss what assistance we can provide as we continue to support you as your Group develops.
When you have decided that you are able to start a Group fill in the registration form from the resources box below and return it to the Development Officer.
We will give you a copy of the D of E Handbook for Group Leaders and a series of posters and leaflets you can use to advertise your group and recruit participants. As well as the material supplied in the pack, additional publicity resources are available from the Award Team.
You can also take this opportunity to recruit volunteers to help you. A meeting with parents is a good chance to address both these needs.
When you have a clearer idea of how many participants and helpers you have, you can decide on how you are going to organise your group, and think about the year ahead. See the Running an Award Group page for more information.
