However there are a number of participants completing their awards under the old Record Book scheme, and these notes are to help guide both Leaders and Participants through the process.
When completing Record pages for each Section of the Award, instructors and assessors must fill in each part to enable the Operating Authority to easily check that conditions and requirements have been met.
It is particularly important that the start date (briefing) and finish date (review) are completed. When a Section has been completed, the Operating Authority can check details and award Sectional Certificates for Bronze and Silver Awards. These can only be awarded if the time requirement has been fulfilled.
Participants can record comments on their experience and feelings of the activity.
When all Sections of the Record Book have been completed and checked, the Operating Authority representative signs the Record Book and returns it to the Award Group with the badge and certificate.
At Gold, the Award is authorised by the Operating Authority and
confirmed by the regional office for approval. Badges are
forwarded to Operating Authorities for distribution or
presentation and certificates are presented at a Royal
Palace.
