Water Sports Training in the Youth Service

How about having a go at water sports? And maybe gaining some qualifications?

You can now take part in water sports training through the Youth Service. The Service boasts two outstanding activity venues. Both provide instruction by fully qualified staff and an excellent range of equipment.

For either centre contact 01432 260212 or email outdoored@herefordshire.gov.uk

Castle Green Canoe Centre
This is based on the River Wye in Hereford.

All are welcome to come and have fun learning the basic skills of kayaking or canoeing. Those who wish to progress to more advanced levels can take British Canoe Union star test awards. We also run coaching awards and will help you obtain the pre-requisites necessary to achieve these awards.

The centre has an impressive fleet of boats, including five new open canoes and ten new kayaks. All are waiting to be used by new or old friends.

Bodenham Lake Water Sports Centre
This is a twenty-minute drive north from Hereford.

Bodenham Lake offers introductory lessons in sailing, power boating, canoeing, kayaking and raft building.

Our sailing fleet includes three GP14's, five Optimists and six toppers. The centre also has a range of kayaks, canoes, powerboats and raft building equipment.

We also have a fleet of Access sailing dinghies, which are equipped for those with special needs, helping us in our quest to provide water sports for all.
