Bridges

The bridge maintenance section maintains the majority of highway bridges and structures, with the exception of those on trunk roads, most railway bridges or any private bridges. Each bridge is regularly inspected and routine maintenance carried out.

Existing bridges will be maintained at a load carrying capacity appropriate to the class and function of the road carried.
