Dropped kerbs

A dropped kerb is a crossing across a footway or verge that allows your vehicle to gain access to your property from a highway.

Is there a charge for dropping a kerb outside my property?

There is no charge for permission to drop a kerb but you will need to pay for the work to be done.

How do I apply for a dropped kerb?

Please contact us on 01432 261800 or email streets@herefordshire.gov.uk

Following your initial request, we will inspect the site and take measurements before we make a decision. If there are no problems after the inspection, we will send you an application form pack.

Permission to drop the kerb lasts for two years, if this time elapses and the dropped kerb has not been installed, you will need to have the site re-inspected.
