From Monday, 12 May 2008 major roadworks will be taking place over the summer and early autumn on the A40 outside Gloucester. The works will cause serious delays to traffic, including buses. Temporary timetables will be introduced on services 32 (Ross - Newent - Gloucester); 33 (Ross - Lea - Gloucester) and 132 (Ledbury - Newent - Gloucester) and there will be a knock-on effect on service 45 (Ross - Ledbury). Copies of these temporary timetables are in the Resources box below.
The B4218 road is closed at Colwall Green railway bridge, which has been found to be unsafe. Buses on service 675 (Ledbury - Malvern) are operating to a special emergency timetable and are diverted at Colwall Green via A449, British Camp, Jubilee Drive, Chase Road and Upper Colwall Road to Colwall Stone adding approximately 20 minutes to the through journey time. The special timetable can be found in the Resources box below. Passengers can travel free of charge between Colwall Green and Colwall Stone on this service. On Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays service 476 (Hereford - Ledbury - Great Malvern) is being diverted via the A449, British Camp and Jubilee Drive and will not serve Colwall. A special shuttle service will run between Ledbury and Malvern via Colwall (but not Colwall Green). Departure times from each terminus will be as per the service 476 timetable. Times at Colwall will be as near to the scheduled 476 times as possible. No fares will be charged on the special service which is available only to passengers travelling to or from Colwall and not to through passengers between Ledbury and Malvern.
Full details of all these changes are contained in "Updates" to Herefordshire Council's Area Timetable Books, which are available from Libraries, Tourist Information Centres and other outlets.
