About the LTP

The Local Transport Plan is a statutory plan which sets out the Council's transport policies and programme of transport improvements for a five year period.

The first Local Transport Plan was introduced in July 2000 to cover the period 2001/2 to 2005/6. It replaced the old Transport Policies and Programme (TPP) and introduced a new emphasis on longer term transport planning and a shift in national policy in favour of providing sustainable transport improvements. The Council has also published Annual Progress Reports (APRs) providing a summary of transport improvements for the County.
