Diversity Campaigns
Safe Places
The Safe Places campaign is in its infancy at the moment. There are Safe Places dotted around the county where people with a learning disability can go if they are the victim of bullying or hate crime. The Safe Place will display a poster to let people know that their employees are trained to look after vulnerable people who may feel unsafe or afraid. The person with a learning disability will carry a card with the name and contact details of someone they would like to call in the event of something happening.
No Prejudice in HEREfordshire
An anti-discrimination publicity campaign launched April 2009. A reminder to everyone that sometimes it is good to challenge prejudice and discrimination.
Baywatch
Launched in February 2009, this is a campaign designed to cut down on abuse of disabled parking bays and the Blue Badge system.
Taking Part in Politics
An initiative launched in October 2008 designed to encourage people with learning disabilities to get involved in politics and voting.
Out in the Sticks
A series of events with a Lesbian, Gay, Bi or Trans theme, originally launched in Herefordshire in February 2008.
