Race discrimination law

Direct Race Discrimination: It is direct race discrimination to treat a person less favourably on racial grounds than another person would be treated in the same circumstances. As well as words or acts of refusal, direct discrimination includes words or acts of discouragement.

Indirect Race Discrimination: It is indirect race discrimination to set conditions or requirements for a person to meet which may seem to apply to everyone, but may place people of a particular racial, ethnic or national group at an unfair disadvantage.

A racist incident is defined as any incident which is perceived to be racist by the victim or any other person.
