The Equality, Human Rights and Partnership Team

The team was established in April 2005 as the Corporate Diversity Team and is based at the Plough Lane offices. In 2011 the team merged with the Herefordshire Partnership and became known as the Equality, Human Rights and Partnership Team.  The Equality and Human Rights role is:

• to ensure that the Council fulfils its statutory responsibilities with regards to relevant legislation
• to create a culture of openness, honesty and trust where everyone is treated with respect
• to work in the community to raise awareness
• to support employees and members of the public to challenge discrimination, hate crime, harassment or bullying

More information about the work of the team can be found in the leaflet in the Resources box to the right, or contact us for more details.  The team published the document "About Community Cohesion" (which can also be found in the box to the right) and distributed it to the delegates who attended the Herefordshire Equality & Human Rights Conference in November 2010.
