Discrimination and Harassment

Discrimination can take many forms, some subtle, some overt.  However defining discrimination can be complex, and detailing the various laws surrounding it is even more so.  There are various websites which aim to give an overview, and some of these can be found on our Useful Links page.

If you have been the victim of discrimination or harassment, you can report it to us or direct to the Police.  Both the Council and the Police take all such reports very seriously, and will thoroughly investigate them.

Some of the other links on this site refer to discrimination resulting from sexual orientation, gender, disability, religion and belief, age and race, and they may provide you with some useful information.  You could also view our page on Hate Crime.
