After A Flood

Flooding can have has a devastating effect on property. Not only may floodwater be contaminated with oil, silt and even sewage, but it can be dangerous as even six inches of fast-flowing water can knock you off of your feet.

It is important that on returning to a flooded property that you follow some simple guidelines to reduce the impact, of what can be a very stressful time.

The Environment Agency website has details on how to effectively clean up, dry out, restore and repair a home after flooding, together with details of organisations that can offer information, support and practical help in the clean up operation.
