Bertie Buzzard

[Bertie Buzzard, Queenswood's feathered friend]

Bertie Buzzard Trails

Every school holiday (with the exception of the February half term) Bertie Buzzard Queenswood's favourite feathered friend will have a trail for you to follow around the woods to learn more about nature at Queenswood. These are self-guided trails - just turn up and look for the signs on or around the Badger Trail.

School visits

We do not currently have any dedicated staff or facilities available for school visits at Queenswood Country Park, though it is always useful for the Countryside Team to be aware that you will be visiting (please use the contact number below).  However a wide range of educational activities relating to woodlands can be found on the Woodland Trust Nature Detectives website (follow the link in the external links box below.)

Private events and other activities

Privately organised events

If you are planning to hold your own private event at Queenswood for an organised group then please get in touch.  It is very useful for the Countryside Team to know that you coming.  We may be able to advise you as to whether your event clashes with a similar activity of which we are aware, or whether we are planning to hold a public event on the same day.

We will also be able to advise you as to whether any special activities you were hoping to organise are permitted on site.

Please remember that you will need to organise your own insurance and other health and safety requirements relating to your activities.

Please contact the Countryside Team Tel: 01432 260073 or email:queenswood@herefordshire.gov.uk

Commerical Enterprises

If you use or are planning to use Queenswood Country Park for a commercial enterprise please contact us to let us know your proposals.

Weddings

Unfortunately Queenswood is not a licensed wedding venue and we do not have any facilities to support weddings at Queenswood.  Also there are no 'non-public' areas that can be used by wedding parties.

However, some people do choose to have their wedding photographs taken at Queenswood.  If you are planning on doing this it is always helpful to let the Countryside Team know when and where so that we can inform you as to whether anything else may be taking place that day which may affect your plans.

Other Activities

If you are planning a visit to Queenswood or another countryside site with your children and would like some ideas for fun and activities that you can do outdoors then why not download the "Where Wild Things Play Guide for Families" that was produced in partnership with Jo Polack from the Herefordshire Nature Trust 'Where Wild Things Play' Project in 2007.
