We currently offer two ways of adopting a memorial tree at Queenswood:
There are many established native and "exotic" arboretum trees that currently have no formal donor. One of these can be adopted at a cost of £200. This cost includes the erection (if one is not already in place) of one of our standard wooden posts and waterproof labels. These labels offer about 15 words (maximum) of remembrance plus details of the type of tree, when it was planted, home country etc. The donation is also registered in our tree database so it can be looked up and the location shown to other visiting family, relatives etc.
These cost £200. This cost includes the tree itself plus planting and protection as well as a standard label as described above.
Full details of the scheme, details on the "tree guarantee" and an application form are available to download below if you have any queries or would like to discuss your requirements please contact Paul Ratcliffe (Ranger responsible for Queenswood) Tel: 01432 260344 or email: pratcliffe@herefordshire.gov.uk
Please note that as Queenswood is a primarily a "wildlife" country park we do not encourage any form of other tributes or floral displays associated with memorial trees.
This scheme is run through the Queenswood Coronation Fund (Registered Charity 518624) which allows us to reclaim a Gift-Aid tax rebate on sponsorship made by a UK Income Tax Payer. Full details are provided on request. If you are interested in taking this further please contact Paul as listed above.
