They work in partnership with various national organisations such as the Natural England, DEFRA and the Forestry Commission as well as local groups such as Herefordshire Commons Project and Herefordshire Action for Mammals.
James Bisset, Principal Countryside Officer
James works developing the strategic activities of the service, co-ordinates the management of projects at the Countryside sites and helps develop other initiatives with public, private and third-sector partners. He is also the lead officer on AONB's, is a Registered Bat Roost Visitor and champion of locally distinctive orchards and fruit varieties.
Trevor Hulme, Senior Countryside Ranger
Trevor co-ordinates the work of the ranger team as well as the management of Bodenham Lake and a number of Local Nature Reserves. He also oversees conservation initiatives and survey work at a range of Council owned sites and is involved in project work relating to Commons in the County.
Paul Ratcliffe, Countryside Ranger
Paul co-ordinates the management of Queenswood Country Park including the Arboretum trees and SSSI woodland. Also co-ordinates the Sponsor a Tree scheme at Queenswood on behalf of the Queenswood Coronation Fund.
Jim Key, Countryside Ranger
Jim co-ordinates the management of the countryside picnic sites across the county as well as some of the other countryside sites such as Newton Coppice and Dinedor Camp Woods and the future Belmont Haywood Country Park
