This picnic site in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a lovely place to stop for some refreshments whilst taking in the tranquil surroundings including the nearby River Wye.
There are parking spaces for 8 cars along with 3 picnic tables and 3 benches.
The site is at the foot of the ruined Backney Railway Bridge, which was part of the Hereford-Ross-Gloucester Railway and the stone supports for the bridge can still be seen jutting out of the river.
The site is on the minor road between Bridstow and Strangford - 2 miles north of Ross-on-Wye.
