How
life in Britain has changed since 1948
Children will groove to the sounds of the last sixty years, strut
their funky stuff in original costume from the museum's
collections. They will handle a wide variety of objects dating from
40's to the 90's and learn about changes in musical style, popular
culture, fashion, lifestyles and technology throughout the post war
decades.
Children will:
- Delve into time boxes to discover about different
decades
- Make a small museum display of their objects
- Create an object timeline
- Take part in a music quiz with the Beatles, Wham! and Glen
Miller
- Dress up in a variety of original costume including
platform shoes, a hippy kafthan, a kipper tie and a Teddy Boy
jacket
"I enjoyed the dressing up because it was a lot of fun" -
Pupil from Huundeton Junior School
