Why are the rollers of a manglke made of rubber? What on earth could be made out of sharkskin?

This session has the most impressive range of materials for schools anywhere in the county.

Children will:
  • Use real historic object such as a stone mortar and leather bellows to explore materials
  • Complete a record sheet of their discoveries
  • Examine new and old versions of the same type of object
  • Explore the museum displays and discover fascinating objects they may never have noticed before
