What were the differences between the lives of rich and poor people in Tudor times?


An exploration of Tudor life using roleplay and real and replica objects in the wonderful period surroundings of The Old House Hereford.

Children will:
  • Meet Alice Thomas the Tudor cook or John Fletcher the butcher's assistant and help them with their chores
  • Grind herbs to make a herbal remedy for the poor apprentice, Henry Jones
  • Lay the table for the master's dinner
  • Wrap a baby in swaddling clothes

Teachers and helpers will:
