Museum on the Move
Museum on the Move is a mobile museum, which is run by
Herefordshire Heritage Services in partnership with Shropshire
County Council's Museum Service. Museum on the Move exists to
provide access to our museum collections for different communities
in the counties, and has done so for ten years. This year, we have
a brand-new bus complete with an exciting "hands-on" exhibition
suitable for all ages. The bus has a lift to aid those with
physical impairments and friendly, knowledgeable staff to help the
visitor to get the most from the visit.
Exhibition in a Box
Open drawers to find baby crocodiles, mammoths' teeth, or
prehistoric swords, examine mud samples and fossils under a
microscope and sit under a mango tree with the sounds of Africa in
your ears.
Climate Change
The exhibition is "Climate Change". It looks at past, present
and future, starting with the story millions of years ago, and
ending up with the story of The Gambia, and what climate change
will mean to that low-lying country.

The bus will be in Herefordshire from 6 May -7 August and will return 14 October - 5 December.
A Museum on Your Doorstep!
The mobile museum is the museum which visits you - direct to
your parish, ward or school. The exhibition comes with 2 staff to
interpret the exhibition for visitors: all we need from you is
space to park. Just some of the previous users of the service are
day care centres, village fetes, after-school clubs, Brownie
meetings, festivals, history societies and youth clubs.
Community visits are free, and half day or full day visits to
schools are £40. This extremely low price made possible by a
subsidy from Renaissance West Midlands.
