When you have made your telephone booking, we will send you a copy of your booking form, notes to help you plan your visit and notes for helpers. Please read the information carefully and pass on notes to the helpers who will be taking part on the day.
Please tell us as soon as possible if you have to cancel your visit. We reserve the right to charge for cancellations made seven days or less before the planned visit.
We must cover our expenses and we ask schools to book a minimum of 15 children onto our sessions. Heritage Services will accept smaller groups at our own discretion, so please ask.
Herefordshire Council schools can pay via the internal transfer system. The lead teacher will be asked to supply the relevant code during the telephone booking. All other schools will be presented with an invoice on the day. Cheques should be made payable to Herefordshire Council.
All our sites have only one public toilet except for The Old House which does not have a public toilet. None of our sites has lunch room facilities. Please ask if you need advice.
We advise that you check the start and finish times of your sessions and confirm with the coach company that they can get you to the site on time. Allow plenty of time to get from the coach to the site and back.
Museum educators are commissioned to deliver each session within the times set out on your booking form. If your group arrives late or starts late, we will have to compress your session into a shorter time scale.
All our sessions include aspects which are designed around small group activities. These rely on adult helpers supervising, so please brief them so that they, and the children, get the most from the session.
